Challenge Check-in #1

For the Challenge i will be writing about Dark Disney Cinderella. I want to write about this because as a child this was my favorite princess and I would like to learn more about the actual story. I will go about this by reading the original story then watching the movie in order to compare the differences in Gothic Elements.

Blog Post #2

My strongest memory from my childhood while I was in school was probably when I was in the gifted program in elementary school. I remember my gifted teacher for Language Arts would give us these packets on Friday that were due the next Friday. They contained 10 spelling words, and 10 vocabulary words not to mention the daily 30-minute reading log. I always dreaded this, it would take me forever because we had to define the words, then do sentences then do a variety of other things. I remember my mom helping me do these packets because I did have other homework to do.

Although I always dreaded this assignment at one point I realized that even though it was monotonous it was something that had to get done because unfortunately it was my grade on the line in the class. It also taught me a variety of lessons.

These packets taught me discipline. They taught me that at some point after school I needed to sit down to get this done. Although this account sounds insignificant I do believe it has shaped me into who I am today. The discipline I have with my studies is incredible. I know that, like I said before, it is something that must get done whether i like it or not. This discipline will also be useful to me in the long run when I have my career it will help me focus and be prepared for what it coming. For some discipline ins something that comes easy. For that I am thankful for the fact that I went through that experience in elementary that has helped me shape who I am today as a responsible individual.

#thestruggleisreal

Decided to write because i gotta let all this out. Needed to rant a bit.

I've been in college for one week and it's all ready stressful. All this reading I have to do for one class! It's ridiculous! I can honestly say my first week has not been the best. At. All.

I wanna go back to high school where things were a lot easier. Where life was not so complicated and where I lived at home and didnt have to share a bathroom with 50 girls...no thank u.

I never thought college would be like this. The freedom is awesome, being away from parents and all but it's good for nothing when you have tons of pages of hw to read. I barely even have time to read for pleasure.

So lets start with my first week of college. My most memorable moment was walking to class and almost falling on my face on the side walk. just Priceless. can college get anymore fun?

Then there the Roommate situation...where do i start with that one?? The other day she left her gallon of tea open in the fridge and guess what happened? it went EVERYWHERE!! Behind my desk, under my fridge, in my bookbag, through my notebooks and even all the way to my dresser and guess who had to struggle to pick it up...? ME! Worst day ever. Then to top it all off I was not able to sleep all night because of the  other 50 girls in the hall. 10 who were laughing and dancing with the RA at 1 am... -.- great role modeling I tell you.

Lets hope the second week gets better but form the looks of it...it wont. I already have 2 tons of reading to get done. and its fourth of july weekend! Hurry for getting turnt up on reading!! woooo!!!

Blog Post 1: My Inspiration

At some point in my teen life I decided what I wanted as a career. I was inspired by two women in my life that I look up to dearly. This is my mother and my moms cousin.

My mother has always been a big advocate on education. Mind you, she's a teacher. She's been going to college since before she was pregnant with me and continued even after I was born. She graduated with her Bachelor's in Education and Master's in Science while maintaining a job, a family, and a household. This is something I look up to, her perseverance and determination to finish what she once started. She had always wanted to be a teacher and now she is doing what she loves. Her struggle inspired me to always strive for more and do what you love which is why I chose Psychology.

My mom's cousin also inspired me to become a Psychologist because she is doing the job that I love. She helps children and teens with their problems at home or at school. This inspires me because I want to make a difference in the world. I want to help prevent children from making bad decisions in their lives that will effect them for the rest of their lives. I want to make children aware of all the danger of the world on the outside. I want to be able to help them find who they are and help them find what they want out of life.

The study of the mind is so extraordinary and complex to analyze. It's where everything comes from, all your emotions, thoughts, and ideas... I hope to one day achieve my dreams and really make a difference and help those children into become positive productive citizens.
